However, if you are looking for quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a builder with more than 21 years of experience in the industry, look no further than Kevin Teague Custom Built Homes.
Mr. Teague is a proud second-generation builder. His start in the industry dates back to his early childhood when as a 5-year old boy he spent countless hours by his father’s side driving to each jobsite and seeing with his own eyes how house is built from the ground up. Anxious to be his Dad’s best helper, Kevin would happily pick up scrap wood to toss into the construction site’s burn pile. Cartecay River
If you think that living in proximity to town with a river running right through the center of it sounds dreamy, then you will absolutely love Ellijay! The Cartecay River, which began as a part of Ellijay River and turns into the Coosawattee River is a nineteen-mile class two whitewater river. Popular for outdoor recreation, canoers, tubers, and kayakers take to the river to run the rapids and take in the beautiful scenery the mountains and river provide. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you can choose to put-on the river with an outfitter on the Lower Cartecay and follow the river to Blackberry Mountain or if the water is high enough, you can choose to put on at Stegall Mill Road and exit at DNR. Speaking of Blackberry Mountain, this highly sought after gated community is accessed via a covered bridge over the Cartecay River.
Maybe a nice relaxing walk on the Cartecay River Loop Trail is more your speed, but be sure to bring a fishing pole and drop a line . ...

Apples, Pumpkins, and Festivals, Oh My!
It’s not at all clear why Johnny Appleseed, proud purveyor of produce, might have stopped sowing seeds somewhere just beyond Ellijay, on the southern side of the Blue Ridge region. Who knows? Maybe it was some menacing dogs at the county line, or maybe he didn’t get a conditional use permit, but it doesn’t really seem to have anything to do with jurisdictional boundaries.
It’s not like grapes, where certain types, vinifera, for example, grow best at particular elevations or proper ph. But somehow good ol’ Johnny either stopped for no reason or ran out of seed after a productive sojourn to the east of Ellijay, about 20 miles south of Blue Ridge. The good news is, there’s a high concentration of apple trees close by, and if you overshoot that’s not a bad thing. Maybe you land in Dahlonega, where the good grapes grow. But that’s another story, for another time.
An apple hunt foray is an easy day; ...
